The explanatory text regarding the Wiley Open Access Article Publishing (Read and Publish) Agreement, sent by TÜBİTAK Ulakbim, is provided below. It is important for our faculty members to pay attention to the points outlined in the Open Access Article Publishing process.
It has been observed that some authors select “TÜBİTAK Ulakbim” as their institutional account during Wiley open access article submissions. However, each institution is listed in the system under its own name, and authors must select the name of their affiliated university (affiliation) as the account name during the open access article submission process. Authors who have registered the institution name as “TÜBİTAK ULAKBİM” will be informed regarding this matter.
There is no step in the APC submission process where “TÜBİTAK Ulakbim” must be selected to benefit from the agreement. Authors need only select the name of their affiliated institution correctly. When “TÜBİTAK Ulakbim” is selected as the account name while entering article information, the relevant article does not appear under the university account, leading to erroneous results in reporting. As you know, TÜBİTAK Ulakbim is an institution with affiliated researchers; this institution name is intended solely for those working at this institution—i.e., those affiliated with it—and should not be used by those not employed there. Therefore, it is important for authors to carefully review the steps outlined in the “Author Workflow” document.
Additionally, as noted in the “Author Workflow” document, the “Funder” information requested in Open Access article records is not related to the TÜBİTAK–Wiley Open Access agreement. This field should only be filled out if the author has utilized a grant or funding related to the article. If no grant was used, this field should be left blank.
