Prof. Dr. Selahattin Çınar, Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture at Kırşehir Ahi Evran University, participated as a guest in the "Ahice Sohbet" program organized by Ahi TV, where he provided the public with significant insights into the activities of the faculty.

During the program, Prof. Dr. Çınar introduced the academic and scientific endeavors of the faculty, highlighting key specialization projects undertaken at the university, including the Forage Production Project, the Thermal Greenhouse Clustering Project, and the Walnut-Oriented Development and Growth Project, emphasizing their contributions to agricultural development in Kırşehir. In addition to these initiatives, he also provided information on other ongoing projects within the faculty. Notably, he announced the launch of the Farmer Advisory Service, which aims to facilitate the transfer of academic expertise to farmers.

Addressing international collaborations, Prof. Dr. Çınar underlined the significance of agreements signed between Kırşehir Ahi Evran University and institutions in Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan in fostering student and academic staff exchanges. He further announced that exchange programs could commence in the near future within this framework. Additionally, he provided insights into a poultry farming project conducted by the faculty in Somalia, underscoring the faculty’s ongoing contributions on an international scale.

Emphasizing the importance of collaborative efforts with all stakeholders, Prof. Dr. Çınar stated that joint initiatives with institutions in Kırşehir would continue to expand. Furthermore, he announced that the 17th International ISPEC Congress on Agriculture, Livestock, and Rural Development, scheduled for April 25-27, 2025, would bring together industry professionals in Kırşehir.

During the program, Prof. Dr. Çınar also clarified common misconceptions regarding Genetically Modified Organisms (GMOs) and hybrid seeds. He highlighted that these two concepts are frequently confused and emphasized that the import of GMO seeds into Türkiye is prohibited. He explained that hybrid seeds are obtained through crossbreeding techniques and are completely safe.

Concluding his remarks, Prof. Dr. Selahattin Çınar reaffirmed the faculty’s commitment to contributing to society and extended his gratitude to Ahi TV for providing an opportunity to share these developments with the public.
