Two research projects involving Asst. Prof. Dr. Veysel Gül, a faculty member in the Department of Biosystems Engineering at the Faculty of Agriculture, Kırşehir Ahi Evran University, have been awarded funding under the Research Universities Support Program (ADEP). ADEP is a scientific research initiative that provides special financial support to research universities and is implemented within the framework of the “Cooperation Protocol for the Research Universities Support Program” signed between the Presidency of Strategy and Budget and the Council of Higher Education (YÖK).

These projects, coordinated by Ankara University with a total budget of approximately 2 million TRY, aim to develop innovative technologies that address national food safety challenges through artificial intelligence and agricultural technologies.

The first project, titled “Development of an Artificial Intelligence and Hyperspectral Camera-Based System for Adulteration Detection in Meat Products”, focuses on detecting adulteration in meat products using a hybrid system that integrates hyperspectral imaging and artificial intelligence algorithms. The project is led by Prof. Dr. Abdullah Beyaz from the Department of Agricultural Machinery and Technologies Engineering at Ankara University, with Dr. Veysel Gül contributing as a researcher from Kırşehir Ahi Evran University.

The second project, titled “Development of a Device Based on AI-Assisted Analysis of Digital Microscope Images for the Detection of L. monocytogenes Depending on Cooking Time and Techniques in Red Meat”, aims to identify the presence of Listeria monocytogenes, a critical microbiological hazard, in red meat depending on different cooking durations and techniques. The project will develop an AI-powered device capable of analyzing digital microscope images for rapid and reliable detection.

Commenting on the projects, Dr. Veysel Gül emphasized the contribution of these studies to the development of innovative technologies in food safety. Through such high-impact research, our university continues to contribute to public health and domestic technological advancement.

We extend our congratulations to Dr. Veysel Gül for his involvement in these prestigious ADEP projects and wish him continued success in his scientific endeavors.
