Students from the Department of Biosystems Engineering at Kırşehir Ahi Evran University, under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Sultan Kıymaz, visited the Kırşehir Regional Meteorology Directorate for a technical field trip. During the visit, students received detailed information from Director Davut Şimşek about meteorological observation systems and data collection methods.

The students were introduced to how meteorological data such as temperature, atmospheric pressure, humidity, wind speed and direction, and precipitation are measured and analyzed to produce accurate weather forecasts. It was emphasized that meteorological stations, equipped with a wide array of sensors, play a vital role in monitoring atmospheric conditions both on land and at sea.

During the visit, students also had the opportunity to observe what are known as "meteorological stone throw parks"—open areas specifically designed for meteorological observations. These parks are free from environmental obstructions and are equipped with various instruments to represent natural conditions as accurately as possible.

This hands-on experience allowed students to strengthen their understanding of theoretical concepts and gain valuable insights into the practical applications of meteorology in the field of biosystems engineering.
