Kırşehir Ahi Evran University Faculty of Agriculture has signed an important cooperation protocol within the scope of the “Wheat, Barley and Forage Crops Demonstration Project”, which aims to contribute to the development of regional agricultural production. The protocol was signed during a ceremony held on 16 October 2025 with the participation of project stakeholders.

The protocol of cooperation was established between the Kırşehir Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry, Kırşehir Commodity Exchange, Kırşehir Ahi Evran University Faculty of Agriculture, and Kırşehir Chamber of Agriculture. The project aims to support regional agriculture by strengthening collaboration among partner institutions.

Within the scope of the project, the Faculty of Agriculture will provide scientific infrastructure and academic support, taking an active role in the planning, implementation and evaluation of demonstration studies. The activities will focus on demonstrating the performance of wheat, barley and forage crop varieties suitable for the region under field conditions.

One of the significant outcomes of the project will be the preparation of a “Variety Introduction Catalogue” based on the data collected from demonstration fields. This catalogue will serve as a scientific guide to assist farmers in selecting the appropriate varieties during the production season. In addition, a Field Day event will be organized following the harvest period to present the project results directly to farmers on site.

Faculty representatives emphasized that transferring scientific knowledge to the field and promoting conscious agricultural practices among producers are among their primary priorities. They also underlined that the project will make an important contribution to the sustainable development of regional agriculture. It was announced that in the coming years, similar demonstration activities will continue with new species and varieties adapted to the region.
