In our faculty, a “Disaster Awareness Training” was organized to raise disaster awareness among students and academic staff.

The training, held in the faculty’s conference hall, was attended by academic and administrative staff as well as students. During the program, comprehensive information was provided to the participants about preparedness before disasters, correct behaviors during disasters, and the necessary actions to be taken after disasters.

The training was given by AFAD Deputy Coordinator and Trainer of Trainers Kaan Yücekan, who explained basic information about earthquakes, floods, fires, and other types of natural disasters, methods for preparing emergency kits, and the importance of evacuation plans. In addition, a “Drop-Cover-Hold On” drill was conducted, providing participants with practical training.

At the end of the training, a certificate of appreciation was presented to Trainer Kaan Yücekan.
