At the conference, Prof. Dr. Mahmut Yılmaz comprehensively evaluated the military, political, and social impacts of biological agents by examining the concept of biological warfare within its historical context. Prof. Dr. Yılmaz shared important information about the development and use of biological weapons and the measures that can be taken against such threats, emphasizing the strategic importance of biosecurity and biodefense issues, particularly in today's world.

In his speech, Yılmaz specifically mentioned the brown marmorated stink bug (Halyomorpha halys), which has emerged in the Black Sea region and is causing significant damage to hazelnut trees. He emphasized that biological warfare is not only a military threat but also poses serious agricultural risks and causes yield losses, stressing the need for countries to raise awareness in this area and strengthen scientific cooperation.
