The conference, attended by academic staff, undergraduate and graduate students, was conducted by Prof. Dr. Mustafa KAN, a faculty member of the Department of Agricultural Economics.
The conference comprehensively addressed the transformation of rural development policies in Turkey from the modernization period to the current digitalization process. Prof. Dr. Mustafa KAN made important assessments on the use of digital technologies in agriculture and rural areas, data-driven decision-making processes, sustainable production models, the integration of the young population into rural areas, and the policy-level reflections of new generation development approaches.
The presentation also discussed the opportunities that digitalization provides for the rural economy, the new risks that have emerged, and policy recommendations for the future. Participants benefited from information on smart agriculture applications, digital cooperative models, and strengthening the rural entrepreneurship ecosystem.
The event concluded with a question-and-answer session followed by the presentation of a certificate of appreciation to Prof. Dr. Mustafa KAN.
