As part of the National Technology Initiative, this platform supports young people in preparing for national and international competitions. Our students from the Department of Plant Protection at the Faculty of Agriculture participated with their innovative project ideas. The event, which featured 73 teams and 223 participants from 18 universities across Turkey, also saw contributions from five universities in Konya through their projects.
During the workshop, farmers, engineers, and academics came together to assess current challenges and future needs across five critical focus areas, ranging from smart resource management to autonomous systems. The “Problem Pool” created at the end of the brainstorming sessions formed the foundation for the Agriculture Technologies Ideathon, where innovative ideas competed.
Our faculty was represented at this platform by Ayşe Rümeysa MERCAN, Fatmanur GÜLHAN, Fadime KÜÇÜKDURMUŞ, Tunay Azra GEZER, Zeynep EREN, and Zeynep Neslinur GÜNDÜZ, who presented project ideas under the “Plant Health Ecosystem” category. Through the projects they developed to protect plant health and ensure sustainability in wheat breeding, our students presented diverse solution proposals in the field of digital agricultural production and decision-support assistant technologies.
As the Faculty of Agriculture, we congratulate all our students who have transformed their academic knowledge into technological solutions by integrating it with current field challenges and who are making innovative contributions to the future of plant production, and we wish them continued success.
