Students from the Department of Animal Science at the Faculty of Agriculture, Kırşehir Ahi Evran University, as part of their ‘Buffalo Breeding’ course and with the aim of reinforcing their theoretical knowledge in the field, organised a technical visit to a private buffalo breeding farm in Sıdıklı İkizağıl Village on 17 April 2026, under the supervision of Assoc. Prof. Dr Ertuğrul KUL and Prof. Dr Mehmet SARI.

During the visit, the farm owner, Mr İsmail, provided detailed information on herd management, feeding strategies, milking techniques, and buffalo milk and products. The students had the opportunity to compare the knowledge they had gained in lectures with practical applications in the field, whilst engaging in an interactive exchange of views with farm officials regarding the challenges they encountered and proposed solutions. In addition, buffalo yoghurt produced at the farm and other products made from buffalo milk were served to the academic staff and students.

The technical visit not only enhanced the students’ professional knowledge and experience but also raised their awareness of the livestock sector and made significant contributions to their professional development.
