Associate Professor Dr Koray Kırıkçı, a lecturer in the Department of Animal Science at the Faculty of Agriculture, Kırşehir Ahi Evran University, undertook academic activities in Bucharest, the capital of Romania, as part of the Erasmus+ Staff Teaching Mobility programme.

Associate Professor Dr Kırıkçı attended the 15th International ‘Agriculture for Life, Life for Agriculture’ Conference, organised by the University of Agricultural Sciences and Veterinary Medicine in Bucharest between 4 and 6 June 2026, as a keynote speaker.

Delivering a presentation titled “Genetic Strategies for Reproductive Efficiency: Enhancing Twinning Rates in Sheep” at the conference, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kırıkçı provided information on the genetic and biotechnological strategies applied to increase twin birth rates in sheep breeding. The presentation covered phenotypic and genotypic selection, crossbreeding, marker-assisted selection, genomic selection and current gene-editing technologies.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kırıkçı, who also delivered lectures to students and academics as part of the Erasmus+ mobility programme, contributed to the development of academic cooperation between Kırşehir Ahi Evran University and the University of Agricultural Sciences and Veterinary Medicine in Bucharest, as well as to potential future joint projects and scientific research.
